Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld is pleased to present “The Martus Maw,” an exhibition of new works by French artist Nicolas Pol. The exhibition kicks off with a private opening reception on Monday, November 9th from 6:00–9:00 PM. Nicolas Pol’s works will be available for public viewing beginning November 10th, and running through December 10th. This exciting exhibition will feature sixteen unseen works by Pol and will be presented in collaboration with RVCA, at 80 Essex Street, NYC.

The Artist:
Nicolas Pol, born in Paris in 1977, graduated from the Ecole des Beaux Arts in 2004. His first solo exhibition Life Goes On If You’re Lucky was with Allsopp Contemporary in London in 2005, followed by Fear and Retribution in 2008. He was also included in the Gallery’s group shows PARASITES: Julian Berthier, Lili Phung, Nicolas Pol (2006) and Next Step: Selected 2005 Graduates (2005).

The Exhibition:
The exhibition will feature sixteen never-before-seen works by emerging French artist Nicolas Pol. The works, described by the artist as being “wild & raw,” are created through a process that Nicolas explains as “conceptual but thoughtless.” Utilizing mixed media elements, the works in the exhibition combine aspects of medieval ideologies with colorful imagery and figuration. This visually energetic exhibition will be Nicolas Pol’s first show on American soil. Describing his art, Nicolas says, “My artwork is like creating emotionally moving music for a silent film. I want to create a narrative for people to think about while discovering my work.”

Feedback Ltd., run by Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, works primarily with emerging talents to promote and produce their shows and provide a platform for them to sell their art. Vladimir produced his first show with his company Feedback Ltd. for artist Marco Perego in Paris in 2008. He followed with a show of works by David Mushegain, PC Valmorbida and Salim Langatta in 2009 and an exhibition of works by Richard Hambleton with Andy Valmorbida, in collaboration with Giorgio Armani (2009), both in New York. This will be Vladimir’s fourth exhibition.
